Isle of Man an Island under environmental and social threat

There is no doubt that the Isle of Man (Manx: Mannin) is a beautiful place. A Celtic Island in the middle of the Irish Sea with a rich culture and heritage.  However, it is an Island under threat from within in the form of greed motivated interest groups and poor government decisions. Not least of which is the allowing of inappropriate building developments and plans to allow unfettered increases in population growth. So at the moment the Isle of Man government are putting out plans for so-called "consultation"  on an area plan for the north and west of the Island. I use the word "consultation" in its loosest sense because it seems to most people that previous objections to developments have been ignored. .

If acted upon they would herald environmental and social destruction on this Island on a huge scale. So these plans need to be stopped in their tracks. Otherwise we will be facing the accusation from future generations of "how did you let this happen"? Ironically the way that the Manx government try to attract people to live on the Island is by pointing out its natural beauty, unspoilt environment and unique culture. They may as well say these things and then add at the end "come and help us destroy it"!  The great mantra of this present government is "consultation". Although the government appears to only pay lip service to this word, people still need to put forward their objections to the plan and here is the link. There is also a Manx General Election coming. Lets look at which present politicians have allowed the environmental destruction that has taken place already. Also lets get a very firm commitment from those standing that they will unequivocally oppose such developments.
