Perran Round

Perran Round is the best surviving example of a plen an gwary, a Cornish medieval amphitheatre. Indeed, it is often described as Britain’s earliest theatre.

Cornish language miracle plays were performed in these structures across much of Cornwall throughout the Middle Ages. It is widely believed that Perran Round was specially created as an open air theatre, although it is possible that it was an Iron Age or Romano-British enclosure adapted for use in medieval times.

Kernow FA joins CONIFA

Kernow Football Alliance sidesteps FIFA and England Football Team and joins Confederation of Independent Football Associations (CONIFA)

The best efforts of FIFA and the England Football Team to prevent a Cornwall football team playing internationally have been thwarted with the Kernow Football Alliance now securing membership of CONIFA.

The Confederation of Independent Football Associations is a global umbrella organization for national teams not under the auspices of FIFA – representing nations, minorities, isolated dependencies or cultural regions.

Poignant words written on Cornwall's cliffs

Written on the cliffs of Cornwall's north coast during September, 1914, 'For the Fallen' by Laurence Binyon

"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them."

RIP Colin Murley, Cornish Patriot

We record our sadness at the passing of Colin Murley, member of the Cornish Stannary Parliament and Cornish Patriot.

Colin and Cornish Stannary Team took on English Heritage in 2000 by openly removing and confiscating some of their their signage in Cornwall, a case which ended up in Truro Crown Court and which caused utter chaos in the highest legal offices in the land and even in the Government's security services and with the Duke of Cornwall resulting in the case being discontinued by the Crown which had been fairly and squarely beaten by the Cornish Patriots.

RIP Tom Jago

Tom Jago, Camelford boy whose father was manager of Barclays Bank, Camelford has passed away aged 93 years.

Tom came up with the idea of mixing Irish whiskey with cream to create Baileys' Irish Cream which sells more than 87 million bottles each year around the world.

He also launched the wine brand Le Piat d’Or in 1978 and Johnny Walker Blue Label amongst others.
