News Releases received from Cornish Campaign Groups

As feelings grow in Cornwall seeking a future away from the control of the dysfunctional Westminster Government, we are pleased to forward news releases and photographs issued by growing campaign groups and Cornish activists.

Other groups are increasingly in contact with us concerned at increasing numbers of second homes and an out of control tourism sector which are combining to adversely impact on the natural environment and denying indigenous Cornish people of proper homes and civil rights.

All Under One Banner Kernow - AUOB Kernow

MARCH FOR KERNOW- ST. AUSTELL 〓〓

SATURDAY 11TH SEPTEMBER 2021

GATHERING EARLY, LEAVE 1PM SHARP

PROCESSION ROUTE: Council office carpark, A390, South Street, East Hill, King's Avenue, Carlyon Road, Poltair Park

All Under One Banner (AUOB) is a grassroots campaign movement that organises family friendly marches and rallies in the Celtic nations, mobilising hundreds of thousands of supporters every year to promote the causes of greater democracy and autonomy. For Scotland and Wales specifically, these mass demonstrations are helping to achieve independence. AUOB believes that every Celtic people have the right to self-determination.

As well as AUOB in Scotland and AUOB Cymru there is now a new addition; AUOB Kernow, formed to act as a catalyst to promote greater discussion over the future of Cornwall at all levels. Our historic right to self-determination is crucial in order to revitalise democracy and thereby enable ordinary people to address major cultural, social and economic issues that we are faced with on an everyday basis. It is a mechanism by which Kernow can 'catch up' with our Celtic cousins through a sustainable programme of marches and rallies to build community support for self-determination.

Our first public event 'March for Kernow' will be held on Saturday 11th September at the mid-Cornwall town of St Austell. As in Wales, there is a need for leading political figures to initiate a civic conversation over our constitutional future. How far is the status quo sustainable? Should we be considering devolution or even other forms of greater autonomy? As a result, we will be inviting leading members of all political parties along with speakers with no particular affiliation to give a series of short speeches on the subject. This event will follow on from a march through St Austell accompanied by musicians and representatives of local organisations, marching All Under One Banner- welcoming everyone who desires greater autonomy for the people of Cornwall.

Yes Kernow

Sunday 27th June, 2021 - 'Yes Kernow' at Halgavor Bridge over the A30 at Bodmin.

Leading on from the G7 'Yes Kernow' display at Chiverton Roundabout, we arranged for a similar event to coincide with the 1497 Flamank & An Gof

commemoration ceremonies.

Both eastbound and westbound lanes running below Halgavor Bridge over the A30 were covered from 1pm on Sunday and once again, thousands of motorists passed under us in both directions having witnessed the St Piran flags and 'Yes Kernow' banners.

Many motorists sounded their horns and waved!

Despite it being rather rainy and a little windy, this was a huge success and we were pleased to continue to spread the message!

A further 'Yes Kernow' event is planned and details will be circulated soon

We are proud to be working in close cooperation with all other Cornish campaign groups including AUOB Kernow (All Under One Banner Kernow)
