A Syrra ker / Dear Sir,

I am writing on behalf of 'Kernow Matters To Us' (KMTU), a Cornish campaigning group which has a growing and vibrant membership that spans the globe.

This to congratulate you and your team on the use of our ancient and now resurgent and exciting Cornish language on your buses.

To see you “flying the flag” in your company name and actually using the Baner Piran in your logo was pleasant enough. But recently we have seen the use of Cornish  phrases such as 'Dynnargh dhis' in the buses themselves. Many a Cornish heart was gladdened at this.

Right now the Cornish are under a full assault from our elected so-called representatives and their quangos in faraway Westminster.

Promised funding for our language has been unlawfully cancelled after we were promised it wouldn’t be and our Cornish MPs are sticking their fingers in their ears and ignoring the views of the people who elected them.

Never is this more apparent than the recent “Devonwall” protest in which many of our members took part. MPs from as far away as Norfolk attended, but not a single Cornish one!

One particularly silly little Government Minister, Sajid Javid MP has caused outrage recently when he suggested that we all fit into a bland and mind numbingly boring and compliant artificial South West region. Needless to say, he won't be welcomed in Cornwall in the future!

I really wanted to emphasise how great it was to see someone as large as First Group using and promoting our language. This was a very canny move indeed and respect for diversity is already reaping dividends, something which transient politicians like Sajid Javid MP struggle to understand.

News and photos of this has travelled the world and consequently the positive opinions and profile of your company has risen.

Please could you keep us apprised  of any future developments in relation to this?

We will make sure they are spread far and wide on the many social media outlets we administer where we have tens of thousands of followers.

We are in  the process of appealing to foreign governments across the world for help in funding future development of the Cornish language as our own government has abandoned us.

Your example will be used in this appeal I am sure.

Yn lel - Yours sincerely
