Mann: Thanks for Feedback – Keep It Coming!

NEWS FROM THE CELTIC LEAGUE

This news post is primarily directed at those people in Mann who have taken the trouble to contact the Celtic League and provide feedback in recent weeks.

It is fair to say that although feedback ‘traffic’ picked up after the comments at Hango Hill this year it was really only following the Celtic League statement on the Manx budget (put out by MTTV) that a steady flow of comments kept coming and interestingly these were from a very wide range of people.

However I think its fair to say that in recent weeks the mix of issues has been eclectic covering, stealth charges, pensions, social security, heath services (incl. dentistry) housing, police, TV licences, government ‘jollies’ and of course not least the ‘great silt war in the west’. Interestingly comments on the latter were stimulated as much by the way government is going about ‘getting its way’ as over the environmental issue.

I would apologise if my responses are often brief but you will appreciate if you view Celtic News or our Mannin Facebook pages that the League covers all the Celtic countries and a broad range of issues and as DOI I have to reflect this – so it keeps me busy.

It is clear from the sheer volume of feedback (unprecedented in recent years) that there is a great deal of dissatisfaction with the way things are going politically on the Island and there also seems to be a distrust of politicians at a level also without precedent

I appreciate also the comments which contain information about issues you feel should be covered and even though some of these may not materialise as a news item we do follow up on all matters brought to our attention.

It’s clear that much of your feedback comes from CL (Manx) items circulated on other social media and we are grateful to them for reposts of our news. I would point out that you can access CL News direct and also if you have an android phone download the app we have recently produced (again link below).

Of course as well as positive feedback there is also some criticism and that’s also welcome – no organisation is perfect so it doesn’t do any harm to be reminded of that – in a constructive way!

Thanks again for all feedback and keep it coming.

Finally, I appreciate that not everyone who provides feedback is inclined to become involved directly in the Nationalist or Inter-Celtic movements but there are other political bodies and a wide range of pressure groups. If you are concerned about the Island and the way things are going at present now is the time to act!
