The MLCs new ally...Me!

Its like a bus you wait for one and them two come along at once. I mentioned in the earlier post about a possible coup but in the case of PAG they don’t want to take politicians power they just want to subordinate them by slashing the pay...of some.

PAG have been applying ‘The Chris Thomas Theory of Economics’ to MLCs pay and they were in the star spangled studio of MTTV to set out their stall - obviously the one they nicked of Mec Vannin on Tynwald Day (link):

PAG have done a kind of time and motion study on MHKs and MLCs however even they admit the results are pseudo scientific Chris would never do that. They say they’ve been following the work of MLCs ‘for a number of years’ it sounds like a political equivalent of stalking.

The PAG spokesperson says several MHKs did not respond to their time and motion study one of whom was Chris Robertshaw MHK. PAG have succeeded in achieving what I thought was impossible I now feel sympathy and warm to not just to Legco but also to Robertshaw.

It reminds me of sorting kippers they used to pack ‘firsts’ and ‘seconds’ the latter being a bit knocked about and aesthetically and quality wise not as good as ‘the real deal’. PAG seem to want to make MLCs ‘seconds’ although I can’t visualise the MHKS as superior aesthetically or quality wise.

The interview meaders on and I wonder will this become some touchstone for ‘The Emoluments Men’ (aka The Tynwald Emoluments Committee)? who knows.

I’ve a feeling that in five years time we’ll be watching it on the MTTV equivalent of DAVE and nothing will have changed. However for now the MLCs have a new ally...me! A chilling thought.
