Howard on Brexit - the suit is nice but the video is crap!

Hardly have I penned a piece about Chief Minister Howard Quayle MHK saving the Steam Packet than ‘the Brexit Boatswain’ appears in person on something called the Isle of Man Government Youtube Channel (link):

I'm indebted to Manx Radio for drawing attention to this media source which I had not known existed. In any case judging by the content it's hardly likely to rival BBC4 - let alone MTTV or ‘the portal’. It's a kind of political ‘Walter Presents’.

You do wonder when you look at some of the PR attempts made by government if a great deal of money could not be saved if the large staff of the meda department were not put to better use counting paper clips for Chris Thomas MHK.

As for the Howard video - in which the great man simply talks to camera for less than a minute - it was about as interesting as catching a rabbit in your car headlights before it darts into the dark again.

The only memorable thing about the video is that Howard has a rather fetching light coloured ‘Farmer Quayle’ type suit which gives him a softer late summer almost autumnal mode. However as the item was supposed to convey the seriousness of preparation for something called ‘a hard Brexit’ I think in terms of information conveyance even Dr Goebbels would have had his head in his hands after watching it.

Howard should stick to Moulton and MTTV but then at this time of year that channel seems to be in its ‘random’ period!
