EPA consultation Manx Chief Constable queried over safeguarding issues (Updated)

Attached below a query to the Chief Constable about the recent Treasury consultation on changes to Employed Persons Allowance (EPA)which would have raised the hours threshold for lone parents asking if the Constabulary contributed to this:

Dear Chief Constable,

I heard the Treasury Minister earlier today interviewed on Manx Radio about a consultation which has been held into the revision of hours for those in receipt of Employed Persons Allowance. Many of the people involved will be lone parents.

I wondered if as part of the consultation the Isle of Man Constabulary contributed - specifically outlining the requirements in terms of child care and child protection and the legislation currently in place which covers children who might be left unattended by a working parent impacted by the changes.

Update: The Chief Constable has responded to say there has been no consultation with his Office or the Safeguarding Board he sits on. My thanks for the prompt reply.
