This stone fort, with average wall heights standing about 2.75 meters and over three metres thick, dates back to the early Christian period. Within the site is a souterrain about fifteen metres long and over two metres high and remains of dwellings.
Travelling from Newcastle to Castlewellan along the A50. The site is about two miles southwest from Castlewellan, County Down off a minor road south from the A25 and Lough Island Reavy.
