Blarney Castle/Caisleán na Bhlarna

There have been previous castles on this site dating back to the tenth century. The third castle was built in 1446 by Dermot McCarthy, King of Munster and the keep remains today. The castle is the site of the 'Stone of Eloquence' known as 'The Blarney Stone' which is traditionally kissed by visitors. The castle is open to the public all year round.

Getting there

The castle is located northwest from Cork City/Corcaigh and west from the N20 and south from the R617 at Blarney in County Cork.
