A Bronze Age grave from approximately 1000 BC. Once covered by a circular mound but now exposed on one side, when a road was cut through the site. Most of the monument remains covered by a raised ground bank. More on Giant's Grave
The Ballaharra Stones were uncovered during an extension of the Ballaharra Sandpit in 1971. During the excavations, significant cremation deposits were found within this large tomb. More on Ballaharra Stones
The Norse governed the island for over four hundred years from 800 AD to 1265 AD. In 1079, Godred Crovan invaded the Isle of Man and ruled it for 16 years. It is believed that under his rule the Tynwald Parliament was established. More on Tynwald Hill
This castle is situated on St Patricks Isle which is an islet close to the harbour in the town of Peel/Purt ny h-Inshey in the west of the island. This is supposed to be the first place that Christianity was brought to the Isle of Man by St Patrick. More on Peel Castle/Cashtal Purt ny h-Inshey
The House of Manannan is named after Manannan mac Lir a Celtic sea deity featuring in Manx, Irish and Scottish legend. Associated with the Tuatha De’ Danaan, he is heavily linked with and has a strong relevance to the Isle of Man, being seen as it’s first ruler. More on House of Manannan/Thie Vananan
