Welsh Poet Gerallt Lloyd Owen’s Legacy in Support of Scottish Independence

As reported in the Welsh newspaper the Daily Post, money donated in memory of the acclaimed Caernarfon poet Gerallt Lloyd Owen will go towards the campaign for Scottish independence.  Gerallt Lloyd Owen, from Llandwrog, Caernarfon, died on July 15 at the age of 69. Winner of the Urdd Eisteddfod chair three times in the 1960’s and National Eisteddfod chair in 1975 and 1982, Gerallt Lloyd Owen was a strong supporter of an independent Scotland believing that a Yes vote in the Scottish referendum campaign would generate new hope for the future of Wales.

Earlier this week Plaid Cymru (Party of Wales) leader Leanne Wood, speaking in Scotland, confirmed that Plaid Cymru fully supported Scottish independence and that it would also be a very positive step for Wales.
