Tŷ Cerdd Records Aims to Promote Welsh Music Nationally and Internationally

Tŷ Cerdd Records proudly state: “a world of music to Wales and the music of Wales to the world”. The new record label is being officially launched today and their aim is to present and produce music by Welsh composers or performers based in Wales. All the money generated will be reinvested into Welsh music. They say: “The mission of Tŷ Cerdd – Music Centre Wales is to support, develop and promote the creation, performance and empowering experience of music, both in and of Wales. In doing so, we aspire to reach people in local communities, nationally and internationally, promoting excellence through vision, participation and training”.

Both old and new recording will be featured on the label including re-mastered works from archival recordings. Released today is Bagatelles composed by Daniel Jones and Bela Bartok performed by international concert pianist Llŷr Williams. This will be followed by a whole series of releases from various artists over the coming months including the new operatic version of Dylan Thomas’ Under Milk Wood. More information can be obtained from their website.
