Scotland - Stowaway Cat Makes It Back Home

It has been quite a week for a cat from Leverburgh (Scottish Gaelic: An Tòb). The cat managed to stowaway on a yacht which had stopped at his island home in Harris (Scottish Gaelic: Na Hearadh) in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland. He then travelled nearly 200 nautical miles all the way to Oban.

The cat spent the week in the care of Argyll Animal Aid, who cared for him and sought to get him home to Leverburgh in Harris. It is part a group of feral cats that local fishermen feed and they in return hunt vermin who otherwise destroy their nets.  With the help of Cathi Bertin, who has family on Harris, he was taken back on the ferry and returned home after an eventful week.
