Manx - Don't Be Mild, Restrained Or Timid Be Angry

NEWS FROM THE CELTIC LEAGUE

One of the things the Manx Government count on is that Manx people are too mild, restrained and timid to do much more than complain.

To a certain extent that’s true and nothing demonstrated that more than comment on another media site which labelled a graphic on the Mec Vannin (MV) web site about winter deaths as ‘over the top’. Well it would be a ‘funny old world’ if we all agreed the MV graphic is at this link so make your own mind up:

I DON’T THINK IT’S OVER THE TOP it just conveys directly with a picture that we have been banging on about for weeks i.e. the impact that making it difficult to heat homes has on the vulnerable.

We have cited reports and we wrote to the Coroner and the Police. They obviously took it seriously because police have been advised to ensure they note factors like this at suspicious deaths henceforth.

There is no doubt there will be winter deaths this year because of fuel poverty (get that - the Manx government’s policy will actually kill people) and the government couldn’t give a toss because they think the public will moan then acquiesce and do nothing.

This week in Tynwald after days of strident agitation on social media a number of MHK/MLCs eventually started to question OFT Chair David Quirk about the Manx Gas stitch up. The Manx newspaper headline which accompanied this sudden outburst of concern said that Quirk was ‘feeling the heat’.

He’s not! Neither he nor his boss Allan Bell, as yet, gives a damn about your situation, if you are a Manx Gas consumer. Indeed, it’s fair to say that they have unpleasant charges and taxes waiting in the wings for most of the public – outside the ‘golden circle’ from the Chamber of Conmen lining up to help themselves to £50 million from YOUR reserves.

The campaign of publicity agitation and discontent needs to continue and grow don’t be sidetracked into believing that ‘a petition about this’ or ‘a march about that’ will change anything. The only thing that will change things is growing AND SUSTAINED anger so that come the next election none of these reptiles (who will hope you have forgotten it all or gotten used to it be then) get anywhere near politics again!

Additionally, what are needed are more social media and blogs attacking the government, the more the merrier and if possible diverse moving into animation and video. The scope for agitation has never been easier with the Internet, computers and desk top publishing the tools for YOU to give vent to your feelings are at hand!
