LEAGUE ATTACK VILLIERS OVER KINCORA

The Director of Information of the Celtic League has launched a searing attack on Northern Ireland Office Minister, Theresa Villiers, following her continued refusal to support extension of the Kincora Home scandal to the ‘Goddard’ Inquiry (link):

The DOI says the only reason the NIO want the Kincora abuse allegations to be considered by the HIA alone is to protect the involvement of British Intelligence Services in the abuse.

The DOI says that many political reputations will eventually suffer once the full extent of the Kincora scandal is exposed. He cautions Ms Villiers to ‘seek wiser counsel’. The full text of the correspondence is set out below:

“The Secretary of State,
Theresa Villiers, MP,
NIO, 1 Horse Guards Road ,
London
SW1A 2HQ

24th July 2015

Dear Minister

It is deeply disappointing that despite the discovery of new state papers about the Kincora abuse scandal and also the very moving personal testimony of a victim broadcast on the Australian TV documentary ’60 Minutes’ recently you apparently do not believe the current inquiry should be extended beyond the Northern Ireland Historical Institutional Abuse Inquiry (HIA) to be part of the ‘Goddard’ Inquiry remit, the NI secretary has said.

It is well known that the HIA will not have the powers to compel witnesses in the manner which ‘Goddard’ will have and many people will see this as a cynical attempt by the UK government to cover up the monstrous abuses of its intelligence services who either by participation or omission allowed the terrible crimes committed at Kincora to go on.

The personal testimony broadcast also indicates that children were trafficked to Central London to be abused and therefore there is no justification any longer for a refusal to extend the remit of ‘Goddard’.

You say Minister: "We feel that that is the best forum to investigate these despicable events which took place at Kincora”.

They were indeed despicable events, and the continued attempt by your government to try and conceal the States involvement in same is both shameful and ‘despicable’.

A very great wrong was perpetrated on these young people who undoubtedly had their lives damaged irreparably. The obfuscation by you and the government perpetuates that wrong and continues that damage.

I would urge you to ‘seek wiser counsel’ in relation to this issue. I feel many political reputations will be tarnished forever (and quite rightly so) once the full extent of the goings on surrounding this ‘house of horrors’ is exposed!

Yours sincerely

J B Moffatt (Mr)
Director of Information”
