St Patrick 2015

A l’occasion de la Saint Patrick, BZH NY a le plaisir d’accueillir le Bagad Bro Landerne et le Cercle Celtique Eskell an Elorn de Landerneau du 14 au 21 mars 2015.

Pour cet événement tout à fait exceptionnel, BZH NY appelle à tous les volontaires à nous rejoindre pour l’organisation de ce beau projet.

Le programme culturel comprend :

A celebration of contemporary and traditional Celtic music from the lands of Brittany, Ireland, Wales, Galicia, Scotland, Cornwall and Isle of Man. Plougastel-Daoulas, Friday, March 6, 2015. In Brittany on Sunday January 18th 2015, as reported on the Breton website 7SEIZH a ceremony will be held to commemorate the crew of the Breton trawler Bugaled Breizh (Children of Brittany). The boat went down with the loss of all hands on January 15th 2004 off the Lizard peninsula in Cornwall having set sail from its home port of Loctudy in Brittany. The ship briefly radioed it was sinking in what were at the time good weather conditions.

Elections départementales : mobilisation générale !

Suite à la décision du gouvernement de supprimer la région Alsace, une réponse politique d’ampleur est indispensable.

Nous constatons que la situation actuelle de l’Alsace est imputable en grande partie à la classe politique locale. Il est temps que nous puissions compter sur des élus qui ne soient plus au service des partis parisiens, mais au service des Alsaciens. Cela n’est possible qu’avec un parti alsacien.

Today (18 Dec) in the Breton City of Brest French Socialist Party Prime Minister Manuel Valls began a visit to Brittany. He was met with demonstrators disgusted with a new law on the territorial organization of the French regions passed by the National Assembly. 

'L’indépendance est une chance. Recouvrer notre souveraineté représente bien plus encore que retrouver notre fierté : prendre la voie de l’indépendance, c’est marcher dans le sillon ouvert par de nombreuses nations européennes et c’est une nécessité impérieuse.

BZH New York is an organisation of Bretons and friends of Brittany dedicated to promoting the culture, economy, tourism, and language of Brittany. Brittany is one of the six Celtic Nations.

The struggle to save Alsace and preserve Alsaciens historic and cultural identity continues. Saturday, December 13, 2014, Alsaciens Réunis have organized a new rally in Strasbourg, at 14:00 in place de Bordeaux. This is part of the campaign of opposition to so called French territorial reform which will see Alsace merged into a new eastern region, along with Champagne-Ardennes and Lorraine. There is also a further Rally being planned for December 20 in Paris where protesters from Alsace will be joined by Breton's supporting the reunification of Brittany.

A press release from the political group Breizh Europa calls on all Bretons in Paris and all federalists to join the demonstration in support of Alsace at the National Assembly today, Tuesday 25 November at 14:30. They call for solidarity between the so-called minority cultures of France at this time when the government has shown its intent on destroying separate cultures, languages and identity. This is one of the driving forces behind the aggressive centralising agenda that has seen the territorial reform policy in France.
